NEFCO åbner op for Polen

22.01.2016  16:23

New possibilities for the private and public sector occur as the Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) opens up for Poland. NEFCO is an international finance institution established in 1990 by five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. NEFCO provides loans and makes capital investments in order to generate positive environmental effects of interest to the Nordic region.

Last week a delegation from NEFCO visited Poland, guided by the Head of the Trade Dept. of our embassy Jens Thomsen.

To date, NEFCO has financed a wide range of environmental projects in Central and Eastern European countries, including Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Now the time has come for Poland. NEFCO's activities are focused on projects that achieve cost-effective environmental benefits across the region. NEFCO prioritizes projects, which reduce releases of climate gases, improve the ecological status of the Baltic Sea or mitigate the release of toxic pollutants. Its portfolio currently comprises of nearly 400 small and medium-sized projects spread across different sectors. From now on also Polish gminas and other public institutions or Danish companies in Poland will be able to apply for funding.
