Ambassador's visit to Lublin

On May 14th, 2015 Ambassador of Denmark Steen Hommel paid a visit to Lublin for the third time. The visit’s agenda was full of events of different kinds. The day started with a visit to the Catholic University of Lublin where the Ambassador met with Vice-Rector for Promotion and International Cooperation Ms Urszula Paprocka-Piotrowska. They jointly opened the exhibition “The Happy Danes” that is open to public this week in the atrium of the University Collegium Norwidianum.

The meeting with students and representatives of local authorities: Deputy Mayor of Lublin for Investments and Development Mr Artur Szymczyk, Deputy Head of the Świdnicki District Mr Waldemar Białowąs and Member of the Świdnicki District Executive Board Mr Jakub Osin, was another interesting and important part of the visit. The Danish bicycle culture and reasons of the Danish happiness were the topics of the meeting.

After the meeting at the University the Ambassador had lunch with the finalists of the “Biking to university” initiative that was held under the Ambassador’s auspices. Biking as a means of transport was discussed at the table.

The afternoon part of the visit revolved around business issues. The Ambassador visited the manufacturing plant of Lublin Brewery Perła Inc. and later met with Mayor of Lublin Krzysztof Żuk. They discussed the opportunities for further development of economic and investment cooperation.
