Nytårsreception hos den danske ambassadør

23.01.2019  14:13

The Embassy hosted the annual New Year’s Cocktail in the residence on 22 January. This year’s Cocktail brought together a record number of friends of Denmark from all spheres of Polish society, including a leading senator, senior officials, representatives of civil society, cultural figures and the Polish-Danish business community.

The Embassy hosted the event in partnership with the Danish Section of the Scandinavian-Polish Chamber of Commerce together with Danes Worldwide and the Danish Cultural Institute. The Ambassador highlighted this partnership in his words of welcome and emphasized that 2018 had been a particularly successful year for Danish-Polish relations: The maritime border had been delineated after 40 years, the investment decision on the Baltic Pipe that will connect Denmark and Poland had been taken and energy cooperation including on renewables had been initiated. As for the future, 2019 will be a special year in Danish-Polish relations. Big things are in the pipeline: in September and October, Denmark and Poland will celebrate 100 years of Danish-Polish diplomatic relations. Preparations are well underway. The flagship event will be a conference on Danish-Polish relations in 100 years – in good times and in bad times, covering both relations during the Cold War as well as Poland’s successful integration in the Euro-Atlantic structure, where two important summits in Copenhagen, in 1993 and in 2002, were important milestones.
