Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Mr Jeppe Kofod, visited Warsaw to participate
in the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War.

The Minister started his visit with a meeting with his Polish counterpart, Minister Jacek Czaputowicz.

The consultations focused on the European agenda, transatlantic cooperation and energy security. The ministers remarked on close bilateral cooperation between the two countries, also marked by this year’s 100th anniversary of the resumption of relations between Poland and Denmark.

The official commemorations took place at Piłsudski Square in central Warsaw, with the participation of 40 heads of state and governments from NATO and EU countries - and speeches by German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and President of Poland Andrzej Duda.

In the evening, Minister Kofod together with other heads of delegations participated in a gala dinner hosted by the Polish President Andrzej Duda, at the Royal Castle in Warsaw.
