Defence

The Defence Team within the Department of Economic Diplomacy and Trade at the Royal Danish Embassy in Warsaw plays a pivotal role in promoting Danish defence solutions across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). With defence spending in the region rising faster than in almost any other part of Europe, the CEE markets present a unique and timely strategic opportunity for Danish defence companies. Warsaw serves as the Central and Eastern Europe Defence Hub, providing a regional gateway for Danish companies across all CEE markets – except Ukraine.

The Defence Hub is a Centre of Excellence providing in-depth market insights, identifies business opportunities, facilitates connections with local and regional defence industries, and guides Danish suppliers through the complex political, regulatory, and cultural landscape of CEE defence markets.

The Hub’s activities include mapping high-priority markets, fostering partnerships with local and regional defence stakeholders, and supporting integration of Danish solutions into regional supply chains. By positioning CEE as a single, integrated market, the team ensures that Danish companies can respond swiftly to the region’s urgent and growing demand for military capabilities. Poland, leading the surge with nearly 5% of GDP allocated to defence, exemplifies the scale and immediacy of these opportunities.

Ultimately, the Defence Team aims to make the Warsaw Defence Hub the go-to platform for Danish companies seeking to expand into CEE, providing a single point of entry, a comprehensive overview of the region, and strategic support to turn opportunities into sustainable partnerships. The approach not only benefits Denmark’s defence industry but also strengthens regional security cooperation, aligning with NATO priorities and Denmark’s broader strategic goals.
