Clean air
Poland, despite taking action at many levels, like many EU member states still has a problem with meeting air quality standards resulting from EU directives on air quality. According to the 2018 WHO report, as many as 36 of the 50 most polluted cities in the EU were Polish cities. The dominant source of exceedances of air quality standards in Poland remains the household and municipal sector.
The main objectives of the clean air program is the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, more rational use of energy and improvement of air quality by improving the energy efficiency of selected sectors of the economy and using low-emission energy sources.
